U visa waiting time based on USCIS published data

Hi all,

Friday USCIS posted the updated data set for U visa applicants they received and processed. I did a quick calculation on the waiting time. Just to share so that some people might find it useful.

if you apply in 2014, waiting time 2-3 years
2015, 3-5 years
2016, 5-7 years
2017, 7-8 years

This is the waiting time for USCIS to approve your application, deferred action might come half a year or a year earlier than this.

Here is an update

as of end of Q3 2019 (Jun 30), there are 6,856 applications from 2015 left. but 10k for 2019 is all used. However, 2016 applicants should begin late 2020.
