  • U Visa Approved (2014)

    Hi Everyone

A few of you might know me. Here's my timeline:

    Received: Jan 13, 2014,
    Biometrics: About a month later
    DA: Jan 10, 2015
    DA EAD: JUNE 2015 - JUNE 2017
    EAD Renewal App - 3/10/2017
    U-Visa Approval - 4/28/2017 - 4/21/2021

There's no consistent pattern with the approvals. I think mine was approved because I sent in my EAD renewal and they saw, w.e have a pending u visa app and then approved it. Its been 3 long years but happy that its finally here. Be patient, trust, and pray to whoever (or don't). Good luck and don't lose hope.

Thanks Scorpion!! Hope everything is going well with bringing your wife here.

@Leo85 have your attorney reach out to them following the instructions here: http://www.ncdsv.org/images/USCIS_Cu...ndUrelated.pdf

I did this and three weeks later I got the approval. Not saying it will happen but it could help.

Hello Scorpion and anyone who knows. The fees for Consular processing and interview, the MRV fee. How to pay it? I'm simply unable to hire another lawyer at this stage. Pls guide me. I give all thanks and praises to my lord Jesus Christ!! And please don't loose hope. I believe people from March will get approval soon.

I can't find MRV fee for U visa? Any idea about the amount? Do we have to pay a reciprocity fee too?

                    Hearty congratulations !

Yes, when they are approving cases from March 2014, they should have approved yours before your DA expires. Even God doesn't know their working pattern. Did you pay for the EAD renewal? I think it's better for us not to ask the fee waiver. Lol

                      Hi Special,

The visa fee for consular processing is 160$. The payment options are depend on the country from which you are going to apply. It is very easy to schedule your appointment. Let me know which country are you from, I can look it up for you.

I'm in India , I guess your wife is too. I confirmed today my record is in PIMS. After that I think below are the steps. Let me know if I'm missing something.

                        1) Fill DS-160
                        2) Pay MRV - 160$ at Axis bank
                        3) schedule fingerprint appointment
                        4) schedule Consular interview appointment

My question is, is there any other fee to be paid in Consular Process except MRV? Any idea how long it takes to get back your passport from embassy? Is there anything I'm missing here. Any idea if one needs to Collect visa stamped passport personally from US embassy?

How did you confirm that your record is in PIMS? Please let me know so I can do the same.

There is no additional fees besides 160$. Please share your experience with interview will be great help to me.

                          Thank You

                            I emailed - [email protected]
They responded. I emailed with approval notice. I will absolutely let you know once I appear for my interview. But pls let me know if I missed any steps in my above comment? I'm still waiting to hear from my attorney on the same. Once she confirms I will schedule interview.

Did you attached the notices with email?

you are not missing any steps. All looks good. I am waiting on my attorney too. Once she sends all the documents to my wife, I will schedule her interview as well. I have to schedule it with Mumbai consulate. Which one is yours?

I am concerned with interview questions they ask you, if you can remember and update me once your interview done. That will be great.
