Please advise when can I check EAD?

You can NOT do ir for U visa , wait for any communication from them before anything (like RFE) , it will take them about 5 to 6 years at least to get back to you for DA .
Keep the hope and be very patient .

Sorry , I miss that and let me tell you my experience .

In the pass I summited an application when they where like 2 to 3 months back , after the time when tru I try to found something about it and was imposible for me , I request a call back from USCIS since the time for answering the phone was too long , and making appointments in the local office near to imposible due to calendar been full avery time .
When I finally got an officer on the phone who call me , the same old line , "they can not update anything about a U visa because they are sensitive cases " .
Took them 6 months to produce and send that card . In the mid time they update the info first about the call in the web site notification page , later I receive another update when they approve the petition and order the production of the card , and another one when they mail it to me .

You can make an inquiry about your EAD case if its past 75 days. But their reply will be same that they are still working on it. I did too many inquiries during my case. Even couple of Congressman inquiries as well.
