  • How much money to hire a lawyer work on my U-VISA case?

I am a victim of a Kidnapping case. My friend told me I can apply for a U-visa. I want to known how much money I need to pay for a lawyer, Is there anybody here who hired a lawyer on your u-visa case, and how to find a good lawyer, any suggestions? I am looking forward you guys answers. Appreciate!

I personally believe that paying for a lawyer for a u visa application makes no sense, they can't do anything to shorten your wait time, but definitely get a legal aid or Catholic charities immigration lawyer. You can find those through non profit organization in your community or other resources to refer you to them.Don't waste your money.

Hire and lawyer because if you screw up you might forget something and they ask for more evidence you are only wasting your time.

Get a free lawyer,do not pay for it,also they will apply for waivers for the application, where you will not pay for the application as well.

Get a pro bono or do it yourself, lawyers rip you off, just to give you an idea just to send RFE he's charging me $500,and to file work permit he's getting $750 plus the filling fee which is $410,He's gotten from me like $8000

My lawyer is one of top names in immigration and very reasonable too.
Charged me 3000 and 1000 for my derivative.

They certainly do,I didn't pay for my process,8000 is slot of money for someone undocumented to find, worst if you have kids.Get a free lawyer, there is no difference, than one you pay,and one you don't.I even changed my lawyer,to someone more popular and closer to where I live, she did the paper work for that,no cost to me.
