Well you have a long wait ahead of you as USCIS is still processing cases from 2014 and yet they have not granted U visas or DA to most of the 2014 applicant. You are 1 year behind as per the application and to process it you will still have to wait more than 18 months. Yes, this is hard. This is when you will get DA and able to get EAD (work permit). Lawyers won`t be much helpful to get your case process faster. Just wait that is all we have.

About job, I am not sure what to reply you as you will need work permit in order to get one. Seek help from your dear ones and friends. That is what I have did while I was on wait for DA. I waited almost 12-15 months to get that.

      Best of luck.

No one really can predict what USCIS is doing with our applications,it seems what they place on the website compared to what they are doing don't match up,A friend of mine knows someone from dec2014 who got DA last month she has no special situation or anything, just be hopeful.

Scorpion u are just lucky that you applied so early and at the time when backlog wasn't that big... you waited only 12-15 months, what is it...compared to 24 months (in my case) or even more in other cases. And still no hope for getting news soon.

Well I am not so lucky as you are thinking. I applied in 2014 for the crime which was happened in 2011. Imagine if I would have did in 2011 than about now I would have GC. I waited 12-15 months to get DA but it could be longer in your case as each year there is significant increase in applicants.

If you are from March 2015,you are almost there! I had seen in other blogs that the Nebraska center is already working in cases from January 2015,you won't have to wait 18 months like Scorpion is telling you,as far as financial help don't do it!! just get a job, whatever you can find,I don't know if you watch the news but Trump is saying he wants to get rid of all of those immigrants who deemed a burden to the economy, including all those who get government financial assistance.

Actually Scorpion is not wrong. There are people waiting from 2014. I have been waiting 29 months and still no DA.

I know there's people from 2014 that are still waiting to be adjucated, but since last year when USCIS divided the u visa cases, the Nebraska center had work faster adjucating this cases, meanwhile the vermont center is working at a slower pace,to prove my point any file that gets transfer to Nebraska gets an answer within 90 days and there has been cases from 2015 among those, this person even posted a picture with the letter of approval from USCIS

My application date is October 2014. I don't believe that story about 2015 approvals either.
