Hello Folks,

Is anyone out there who got approval of U visa for application in JAN 2014 or after or near.

I applied on 13 JAN 2014.
Got DA & EAD in 2015.

But still waiting on final approval. I also need to renew my EAD.

Any luck?

Hey scorpion looks like we are in the same boat I am January 15 2014 and waiting on my final approval. I dont know if i should go ahead do renewal process on my EAD. Keep me posted if you hear anything and i ll do the same.

Yes. I will sure keep u updated as if you receive anything pls update as well. I file for the renewal of my EAD as my attorney suggested me because I don`t want to take a chance. As I don`t want to loose my job. I suggest you do the same as well if it is expiring. I applied for EAD renewal in December before the fee increase. But lets hope for the best for both us and thousands more like us.

Same here, I applied on March 2014, got DA and EAD on July 2015, still waiting for the final approval.

So first u wait for DA 2 years. And then how many more years u need to wait for final approval ( U visa ) ? 🤔

10-15 years is not true. Right now approx. wait time for DA is 2 years and for U visa approval is around 3-5 yrs. But the way it is getting Back Logged, we may seen 10-15 yrs. wait time in next few years.

It depends on your application date. I have applied in JAN 2014. Got DA in Feb 2014. EAD in APR 2015. Still waiting for the final approval. If not in this Fiscal year than surely will be in 2018. So all together you can say my wait time is 3-4 years from the application date to final approval. But it changes year by year as the number of applicants increase. if you have applied in 2015 than you can have to wait for 4-5 years and so on. But 10-15 years is too much to think. But with the same procedure I can guess the wait time will be 10-15 years in next few years.

Hi Kris,

I have checked that before too. As I have only got notice for my I-912. I haven`t got notice for I-918. When I checked the same with my attorney, she told me not to worry as they both are same and combined. Hope this helps you. But I got DA so I am not worried anymore.
