FYI : If some one did not notice on USCIS website, Following numbers are as of March 2016
If Congress does not increase the Annual Cap for U-Visa from 10K to 30-40k then it appears that it will be quite a long time based on the pending number of applications.
Also I noted a line in the pdf - " The cap was reached 1/4/2016" that indicates there may not be any more processing of any pending applications this year and that's why date is not moving forward from May 7 2014. Let's hope for the best.
I am not sure what we can do so that congress can provide enough attention, there are couple of petitions out there to increase U Visa CAP, another letter signed by 300 organizations to reduce waiting on U visas.
Thanks,
Ripan
