  • Immigrant Victim Protection Act

It looks like there is movement to get rid of 10,000 cap for U visa recipients and to provide further protections, currently taking place by congressman Jimmy Panetta.

      Definitely!
With current 10k cap, all it will do is cause massive backlog, which will eventually cause the backlog up to 20years just to get DA status years later.
They really need to get rid of the capacity or increase it to 40k.

Thank you, Jesus. God bless this wonderful man. Thank you for posting this wonderful news. Since there are two Acts now, this one and HR4145 to address the same issue, hope at least of them passes. I have 6 broken bones on my face, I am abroad and never passed medical treatment after my surgery, its been 8 years after surgery, doctors in my country said that they dont have knowledge and I need to go back to American doctor. I really need U Visa so I can go to a qualified American doctor. Lets pray this law will pass and I can go to a good American hospital.

          Update

          http://www.montereyherald.com/articl...NEWS/180229922

So according to this article, the bill was introduced on Tuesday, the article is 3 days old so I'm guessing it is Tuesday the 20th of February. Does anybody know what the process is after the bill is introduced?
