  • INFOPASS about my husband's case

Please note that the receipt date is not June 4th 2014, it is June 3rd 2014.
On December 2016 we received a RFE.
On January 17th 2017, USCIS received the requested document.

The following it is our attorney's e-mail:

    *
I just returned from my INFOPASS appointment at USCIS.* Think we have found way to finalize your case.
    *
After discussing with Officer and their checking through the data entered in your casefile, it appears that you have your Filing Date incorrectly listed as July 24, 2015.* She confirmed that they were currently processing U visa cases filed in August 2014.* Your correct filing date is June 4, 2014, which should have been processed a few months ago.* Her only explanation for why this could have happened was the transfer of the file between Service Centers, but this should not have changed the filing date.*
    *
This service error by USCIS would explain why there was no action taken by them at time of our last inquiry, as the system showed the case was still in queue for processing.* Of course, the Officer reviewing the inquiry could have looked through the casefile itself to find the correct filing date and updated the record, but this was regrettably not done.*
    *
The USCIS officer at the INFOPASS recommended that we send letter explaining situation and attach receipt showing correct filing/receipt date to the Service Center.* This should allow case to be finalized as it is now current for processing.* Melissa is already drafting our letter and we will get it out immediately.*
    *
We empathize with the difficult situation you and your family have been through, and will continue to push for your case to reach a final decision at the earliest possible time.*
    *
    Best Regards,
    *

CONCLUSION: USCIS MESSED UP OUR CASE BADLY!! THEY BYPASSED OUR CASE AND PLACED IT A YEAR AND ALMOST TWO MONTHS BACK ON QUEUE!! WTF!!!!

The attorney received a letter to day with another RFE. We sent the whole package with everything they needed and now after 9 months (from first RFE) they need more documentation. I wish we could suit USCIS for wasting our time. Why don't they ask for everything in one RFE?!!!! This is ridiculous!!
