  • Do you know how many people are on the waitlist for u visa?

I just want to get an idea of how long I have to wait to receive u visa. I applied on July 15, 2014. I'm in the waiting list since December 2016

Almost 100,000 principal applicants (92,000-96,000 approx) and next year 2018 is 10th anniversary of the program, so Visa Cap definitely needs to increased and Pro Bono lawyers have to use these 2 factors to advocate for this. I think after Parole Policy will be in place by October, 1, 2017, in around 2018-2019 we might see some movement towars negotiating of changing the Cap, this is just a guess. Lets be strong.

You should be getting in the next 2 years. As long as you have DA and EAD, you are good.

Buddy, you are lucky at least you got DA. There are some people who are still waiting for it from June 2014 onwards. Btw, you stand good chance at FY 2018.

I'm not sure about Parole policy and how does it work. Is it possible for anyone to travel beyond states after successfully gaining U Visa and 4 year EAD with parole even they had overstayed/No valid status before. Thanks.

http://www.klinkeimmigration.com/en/...dates-2017.php according to this article there are only 7000 application on wait list.

USCIS informed us that there are currently only 7,000 people on the wait list. I suppose the good news is that if you have been placed on the wait list and granted deferred action status you should be able to convert to actual U status starting in October 2017 with the new fiscal year.

I hope this is true. the above information is from the blog from the link i posted. I am not sure if Mr. Shah can verify the same.
