    H1 to H4 EAD - Right tome to Apply

    I have H1B visa and my first term of it is getting expired by Jun 2019. I have 3 more yrs of extension. I'm planning to shift from H1B to H4 EAD (As my husband has I140 approval). To make sure I don't have any employment gap in between, what would be the best time to apply for H4 EAD?
    1. Can I apply on the month of Sep 2018 and once I get the H4 EAD, then I can shift to H4 EAD
    or
    2. File for H1B extension in Jan 2019 and once I get the renewal, then opt for H4 EAD. (This case because if my H4 EAD has problem, I can still have H1 B as my backup to continue working)
