conflict F1 visa or I-94 extension

Hi,
I am currently on H4 visa living in California . My I-94 expires on Jun22 this year. In last week of March I have applied for F1 visa. i have heard that it takes about 2 months to get F1 approval. So in the meanwhile should I apply for I-94 extension incase F1 is not approved on time or because it is in pending state I am ok to stay legally? or if i apply for I-94 extension,will it conflict with F1 application?

This is tricky. Since it it is pending you are in an authorized period of stay. If you file for H4 extension, if approved after the f1, you will have your f1 cancelled. Wait a little if you reach june 22 close then file the H4 if you don't get the f1 approved. I would recommend calling us around June 2014. Good Luck Phone (510) 742 5887
