    H1B Visa

    Recently my company applied for my green card, except it has not been approved due to government shutdown, so I am told I need to leave the country until this paperwork is recieved from USCIS. I am suppose to leave in 20 days, my question is there any way to extend my stay.

    I am also told that as soon this approval comes in I can come back to US and start working again in the same company while my green card paperwork is processed.

    My wife sister already applied for her green card several years back and it is pending, is there any way to use my wife pending green application to stay in U.S.

    Please help with any answers you have...

      Hard to tell why they asked you to leave. But I assume you do not have 365 days left on your H1B. As for your wife's sister, depending on the visa bulletin, she might be able to apply. I will recommend calling us at 510 742 5887 for a consultation.
