    Options for F-1 OPT Undergrad in Business who couldn't file for H1B on time.

    Hi,

    I graduated with a bachelors degree in business from SJSU in May 2012, and have been on OPT ever since. Unfortunately, I haven't been successful in finding a job that sponsors H1B and am out of luck with this years quota. I do not have STEM extension. I do not want to enroll in a masters program due to my financial situation.

    Assuming I do not want to do my masters, do you think enrolling in ITU and working on CPT for an H1B consultant until the next april a good idea? Will I run into any trouble in future?

    What do you think would be the best move given my situation?

      I do not recommend relying on CPT unless you can prove it is part and parcel of the curriculum. USCIS has been issuing a lot of RFEs and Notices Intent to Deny just based on CPT abuse. It is a question I can hardly answer because it is your call. I do not recommend it.
