COS to F1 and H4 extension simultaneously

Hi,

First of all sorry, if the post is not under the appropriate thread.

I have a question. Our H1 and H4 extension was filed 5 months back at CSC. Seeing the delay in process there, can i file for a COS to F1 for the coming semester while i still await my extension approval.

Will that automatically mean an RFE or do they get approved too?

Thank you for the post. Yes you might be able to file if you are still in status - not pending status. But the rule of the first approved will prevail. I will not recommend doing this. I will recommend going for a premium on the H1b then the H4 will happen.

The extension never came before the semester started so could not file for the COS.
