  • when can I file for green card ? U-visa approved almost 3 yr complete

    hello,

I have got my U-visa in 2017. my 3 year wait period will be over in oct 2020.

so my question is can I apply for Green card i-485 before 90 days of my 3 year period? or do I have to wait till my 3 year period is complete.

    thank you for reply.

    any tips greatly appreciated.

        Hello,

I recently received my U-visa and according to my lawyer you can apply for residency in 3 years so after you completed your 3 year you can file for your green card.

Good luck and keep us updated

You can apply for a green card after being physically present in the US for 3 years. The three years must be the least constant period that you've been in the U.S, and your Visa shouldn't be expired during application.

I believe all U visa applications for green cards are submitted to the Vermont office, but please seek legal advice.
