  • Green card for sister

I am a US citizen and was naturalized about 1.5 years ago.

I would like to file for green card for my sister who is 22 years old, unmarried, and an Indian citizen.

Should I first file for my mother's green card first and
my mother once she becomes permanent resident can file green
card for my sister or should i file it directly for the sister.

What is the typical wait times in both cases.

I suggest you ti file directly to your sister. If you file your mother first it takes a lot of time to get permanent. So in this case you should file your sister.

Yes you are right. You can apply for your sister visa direct rather than to apply for your mother's visa first. And also it take less time as compare to the first process.
