Exclamation Applied for U visa in Aug 2018. Current status is h4. Need to travel

    Hello All,

I have applied for U visa in Aug 2018. Current status is h4 dependant. Need to travel outside the US for change of status from H4 to F1.

I have a H4 dependant visa stamped and valid till 2021. Can I travel?

The U application itself would not hinder any trouble. If I were you I will be traveling on H4 as long as it is valid and also the H1b for the primary applicant is valid.

You cannot travel on a U-Visa out of the county it will affect your GC eligibility since you need to be present in the USA for at least 3 years to qualify.
